Q: How did you decide on your undergraduate course of study?
A: By asking myself the question, "If I go to the library, books from which field am I interested to borrow to read?"
Q: In retrospect, what did you think were the most useful lessons/ skills/ knowledge you'd gained from your undergraduate education?
A: Don't go for your comfort zone. I hated public speaking but SMU's focus on that had forced me to grow tremendously. The process was uncomfortable and scary to say the least, but I'm really grateful for the exposure now.Your learning zone lies outside of your comfort zone.
Q: How has your undergraduate education influenced your career choice?
A: Directly relevant.
Q: Briefly describe your current job scope.
A: Interviewing job applicants. Counselling police officers. Conducting psychological training for police officers. Providing crisis intervention and victim care. And all those other public service administrative stuff.
Q: To what extent is your current job related to your undergraduate course of study?
A: Totally related - I acquired the skills required to perform the job through my undergraduate education/ The course was a pre-requisite for my job.
Q: What are some additional areas you wish your undergraduate education could have covered?
A: How to type emails.
