Story #72

October 8, 2017

Q: How did you decide on your undergraduate course of study?

A: By eliminating subjects I'm not interested in. I came to a choice between Science or Engineering. Then it's another round of elimination by flipping through the career guide to read up on jobs I can expect to get with a science degree or an engineering degree.

Q: In retrospect, what did you think were the most useful lessons/ skills/ knowledge you'd gained from your undergraduate education?

A: Presentation skills. Ability to find the right books/websites to learn on my own.

Q: How has your undergraduate education influenced your career choice?

A: I didn't exactly "chose". Except for sales jobs which I know I'll be bad at, I applied for all the jobs which either needed an engineering degree or any university degree, and took the first one offered to me.

Q: Briefly describe your current job scope.

A: Drafting contracts.

Q: To what extent is your current job related to your undergraduate course of study?

A: Not related at all - Majority of the skills required to perform my current job was acquired through on-the-job training.

Q: What are some additional areas you wish your undergraduate education could have covered?

A: N.A.
