DATA DOUBLE CONFIRM

#MajulahGCP Season 5

#MajulahGCP is back again! I didn't have the time to participate in Season 3 and 4, but am glad that I have some time for this season. There are some differences from Season 1 and 2 in terms of the quest structure. Now there are courses that you can take to qualify as quest!

I chose to do two courses ("Applying Machine Learning to your Data" and "Understanding Google Cloud Security and Operations"), two with challenge labs ("Build and Optimize Data Warehouses with BigQuery" and "Exploring Data with Looker"), and two with purely hands-on exercises ("Data Science on Google Cloud: Machine Learning" and "Security & Identity Fundamentals"). I personally enjoyed learning through the courses a lot cause there are videos and slides - they are not mandatory to go through to complete the quests but it helps in enhancing the hands-on.

I had some prior experience with BigQuery and Looker so it helps in terms of pacing but I think Looker is a pretty easy interface to navigate without knowing any code. If you're looking for something that's more of a beginner level, this is a good place to start too.

The more interesting takeaway for me this season is the content relating to Security since I have not been exposed to this area before.

Also, there was a slight mistake in one of the quests (think it's one of those in Security & Identity Fundamentals) where there's an error "curl no url specified" when you run curl -o .../.yaml. I had to google to find out how to get past this and it turns out that it should be a big O instead of a small o: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1319546/curl-no-url-specified-even-though-there-is-a-url.
